In the first article "HOME CAN BE FUN TOO!" I spoke about embracing your home country and learning to appreciate and discover the beauty that is around you. In this new article, the focus is on Woodford Hill Beach in my home country, Dominica.
WOODFORD HILL BEACH
I visited the village of Woodford Hill two Sundays ago and after a hefty lunch, I decided to take a drive over to the Woodford Hill Beach. While there I felt like a walk was in order and that I also needed to cross some of the large stones to view the other side. Though I fell and bruised myself, I had a wonderful time.
On that day, I found certain parts of the sea to be rough but other parts seemed quiet calm. As you can see from the pics, I was not dressed for the beach but I rolled up my pants legs and started to explore.
As usual, I took some pics and I will off course show them to you.
This is another example of how we can have fun at home. The cost of my trip: NO CHARGE!
What more could I ask for!
A little about the area:
Woodford Hill: a Village on the North-East part of Dominica. Two villages before the Melville Hall Airport (between Calibishie and Wesley)
Woodford Hill Beach: A black sand Beach on the outskirts of the village (the sand is black as Dominica is a volcanic island)
What more can I do in this area? Mangrove Bay Tours whose facility is located near Woodford Hill Beach offers tours up the Woodford Hill River located on the opposite side of the road.
